OK, so, I did it. I entered the contest at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago to spend a month, locked in, like a human hamster. Why? Because I think it is a great promotion, a cool idea to promote science, and kids would get a kick out of throwing peanuts at me like a monkey at the zoo!
I really do love this museum, I grew up there as a kid, spent every summer trying to get a ride into the city, and see all the science wonders that were there. It is a HUGE place, and not easy to cover in 1 day…I tried to remember what I’d not seen, and get back there as much as I could.
The contest, whether I win or not, is still a great idea, and a wonderful experiment in human social media interaction. What a better job for someone like me who loves to share videos, facebook, and tweets with the world about what I’m doing? At least my Foursquare friends won’t have to worry about trying to find me!
I’m looking forward to hearing back from the committee, I know they have a short time to make a decision, and frankly, if they see my video at all, I’d be thrilled.
